Directions to TSNY Chicago - Belmont Harbor

***READ CAREFULLY: SOUTH BELMONT HARBOR IS TRICKY TO FIND WHEN DRIVING***

TSNY Chicago's outdoor location on beautiful South Belmont Harbor is unfortunately notoriously hard to find! Our address is 3158 Lakefront Trail, Chicago, IL 60657, however we are within a big park and GPS does not always like our address. Additionally there is confusing signage at the Belmont Harbor exit from Lake Shore Drive, which is the only exit you can use to access our location. We are located on South Belmont Harbor, we are NOT located on North Belmont Harbor off of the Recreation Drive Exit on Lake Shore Drive. When you exit at Recreation Drive you will not be able to drive to our location and it is about a 30 minute walk to South Belmont Harbor. The Belmont Ave exit on Lake Shore Drive is the only exit that will allow access to our location. Please plan ahead and arrive early so you will not miss any of your class, and follow the specific directions below.

DRIVING Directions

Lake Shore Drive from the North
Travelling southbound on Lake Shore Drive, take the Belmont Exit and stay in your left lane. At the light, make a left and immediately get in the right lane, and you'll be passing underneath the Lake Shore Drive overpass. Here is where it gets tricky! At the light, you'll continue straight onto a small frontage road that runs next to the lakefront bike path. Do not be fooled by the 'do not enter' sign - that sign is referring to the exit ramp for northbound traffic. The frontage road will lead you to two parking lots, the public parking entrance is on the right. The lot is city owned and in 2016 the rate was $14/daily, though it has raised each year since we opened in 2011.

Lake Shore Drive from the South
Travelling northbound on LSD, take the Belmont Exit and stay in your right lane. At the light at the bottom of the exit ramp, make an immediate sharp right (kind of like a U-turn) and you will be on a small frontage road that runs next to the lakefront bike page. The frontage road will lead you to two parking lots, the public parking entrance is on the right. The lot is city owned and in 2016 the rate was $14/daily, though it has raised each year since we opened in 2011.

Belmont Avenue from the West
Take Belmont Ave all the way east to the lake. As you pass under Lake Shore Drive, stay in the right lane.

Public Transportation
The closest L stop is the Belmont Red/Brown/Purple Line Stop, which is about a 20 minute walk from the rig. Walk east on Belmont Ave and when you see the lake, make a right and follow the bike path south. You will pass the boats, and then cross the parking lot where you will see the trapeze in a fenced off area in the park.

We are just a 5 minute walk from the bus stop at Belmont and Sheridan, which serves bus routes 135, 146, and 151. Once you get to the lake, make a right and follow the bike path south. You will pass the boats, and then cross the parking lot where you will see the trapeze in a fenced off area in the park.

The lakefront path is also great for walking, biking, or skating to class!
